Cumberland River Dredging on the Way

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District has just awarded a contract to Amherst Madison, Inc. of Charleston (WV) for a clamshell dredging of Cumberland River.

The contract, worth approximately $720,000, includes dredging work at Cumberland River Mile 102.7-104.0.

During the works, around 250,000 CY of dredge material will be removed from the navigational channel of the Cumberland River.

The dredged material will be then transported by dump scow barges to a nearby open water placement areas.

It is expected that the works will be completed within the next two months.
