Heavy Force Scores Gahdhoo Island Contract

The Republic of Maldives’ Ministry of Environment and Energy, together with Heavy Force Private Limited, recently signed an agreement for construction of the coastal protection structures in Gaaf Dhaalu atoll Gahdhoo Island.

The project includes construction of 950 meter rock revetment in the Gahdhoo area.

The main goal of this development scheme is to nourish, protect and prevent the spots of the island vulnerable to erosion.

Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim, signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry and the Managing Director of Heavy Force Private Limited, Mr. Ibrahim Zameer, placed his signature on behalf of the contractor.

This coastal protection project is worth around $1.2 million and will be completed within 180 days.
