Dredging Starts at Nigg Dock and Nigg South Quay

Dredging operations in the vicinity of Nigg Dock and Nigg South Quay started yesterday, the Port of Cromarty Firth announced in its latest Notice to Mariners.

The multi-cat vessel UKD Seahorse will be carrying out plough dredging in these areas for a period of 21 days.

The trailing suction hopper dredger UKD Bluefin will arrive around 28th June 2016, to carry out dredging operations in these spots.

The dredged material will be disposed of in the Sutors disposal site.

Mariners are advised to navigate with extreme caution in this area and its approaches and to make due allowance for these vessels, the Port of Cromarty Firth stated.
