The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released a draft project implementation report (PIR) with integrated environmental assessment (EA) for the Langdon Bend Interception and Rearing Complex Habitat Project, located in Nemaha County, Nebraska.

The USACE will schedule a public meeting in July to solicit comments on the project.

The project consists of excavating and dredging approximately 566,000 cubic yards of silty sand to create a 4,500-foot long top-width widening project that interfaces with the main channel of the Missouri River.

The project is located approximately two miles east of the town of Nemaha, Nebraska between River Miles 529 and 532 on the Langdon Bend reach of the Missouri River.

Comments must be postmarked or received by July 20, 2016, the USACE said in its announcement.
