Damen Completes Repairs of TSHD Ruyter

Business & Finance

The trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) ‘Ruyter’ visited Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam recently for a number of repairs.

With the vessel in drydock, the client, De Hoop Terneuzen, took the opportunity to contract some ongoing maintenance tasks.

Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam carried out repairs to the 82-meter long vessel’s dredge pump and trailing pipe.

The spud pole was also removed and repaired. While in drydock, the team at the yard also painted the hull above and below the waterline in addition to performing minor rudder repairs and anchor winch maintenance works.

The entire scope of the maintenance and repair contract was completed within one week – allowing the 1994-built ‘Ruyter’ to return to her primary job of North Sea sand winning activities for various Dutch, Belgian, French and UK customers.
