One of the world’s largest backhoe dredgers, the Magnor, is currently working on the Green Port development project in Hull.

The Green Port project, being developed by Siemens and its partner Associated British Ports, will be the the UK’s first offshore wind turbine manufacturing, assembly, service and installation facility.

According to the ABP, the work on the Green Port Hull is progressing well and is on schedule for an early 2017 completion.

The Magnor, launched in mid-February and delivered to Boskalis last month, was built by the Dutch shipbuilder Ravestein at its Deest facility.

With the 40m long spuds and dredge depths of 32 m, the bucket of the Magnor can lift no less than 67,000 kilograms of dredged material.

The excavator, based on a Caterpillar 6090, has the total installed power of 4,100 kW.
