Business & Finance

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is accepting comments from the public regarding a proposed stream restoration project at Underwood Creek near Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

USACE has prepared a Detailed Project Report, DPR, and Environmental Assessment, EA, concentrated on a proposed aquatic ecosystem restoration project on Underwood Creek in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

USACE is accepting comments on this project through October 12.

The proposed project removes approximately 4,400 linear feet of concrete lined channel along Underwood Creek to support fishery, aquatic ecosystem, and aquatic habitat restoration.

Improvements include construction of a boulder and stone lined main channel with riffles and pools to provide spawning habitat and fish passage into upstream areas that are currently blocked by the concrete structures and channel lining.

The project will provide access for fish from Lake Michigan and the Menomonee River into the lower 1.25 miles of Underwood Creek.
