DEME at New Suez Opening

On Thursday, 6 August,2015, the Dredging International (75%) and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company (25%) consortium participated in the opening festivities of the modernized Suez Canal in Egypt.

Jan De Nul Starts Saloum River Dredging

Macky Sall, the President of Senegal, kicked off the Saloum River dredging project located in the Fatick region last month.

Jan De Nul Group’s hopper dredger De Bougainville has been mobilized to undertake this work, with the main goal to deepen the entrance of the Port of Foundiougne-Ndakhonga.

Van Oord Selects MAN Power

Van Oord, a Rotterdam based dredging and marine contractor, placed an order for two trailing suction hopper dredgers earlier this year.

The vessels will be constructed at CNN LaNaval Shipyard in Sestao, Spain with delivery dates scheduled for 2017.

 

Wartsila DF Engines for DEME

A new generation “Antigoon” class dredger, called “Scheldt River”, being built by Royal IHC (IHC) in the Netherlands on behalf of the Belgium based DEME Group, is to be powered by Wartsila dual-fuel (DF) engines.
