Longview Shoreline Plan up for Comment

Business & Finance

Nearly 40 years after its last update, the city of Longview’s shoreline master program is ready for public comment as a part of a review process by the Washington Department of Ecology.

The draft master program was approved by the Longview City Council in January 2015, and replaces the city’s 1977 shoreline master program.

The updated plan covers shorelines within the city limits on the Cowlitz and Columbia rivers, as well as Lake Sacajawea.

With the proposed plan submitted by the city of Longview, Ecology will now compare it to the Shoreline Management Act and the Shoreline Master Program Guidelines for final approval.

The public can review and submit comments on the proposal from today through June 3, 2015.
