PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II (IPC), Mitsui & Co, Ltd. (Mitsui), Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) and PSA International Pte Ltd (PSA) have agreed to jointly participate in the construction and operation of a new container terminal at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, Indonesia.

This new terminal will be developed and operated by the newly established project company PT NewPriok Container Terminal One (NPCT1).

Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok Port is the most important and largest port in Indonesia, handling the majority of Indonesia’s international container traffic. To support the vibrant trade, there is an immediate need to increase the port capacity and handling capability.

The NewPriok Project is expected to boost Jakarta’s port capacity through increasing the port’s water depth to 20 meters in order to accommodate larger and newer types of vessels with more than 10,000 TEU capacity, that are currently unable to dock in Indonesia.
