DOLE Announces Funding for Cleanup Projects

The Philippines Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has allotted funds in livelihood projects for 877 financially disadvantaged residents of 61 barangays (villages) in the 3rd District of Negros Occidental.

The project, implemented under TUPAD or “Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced Worker,” is being facilitated by the Office of Third District Rep. Alfredo Benitez.

Labor Assistant Regional Director Cyril Ticao and DOLE officer Elmer Gimay briefed the beneficiaries recently at the congressional office of in Victorias City.

Among the projects that are up for implementation are: declogging or clearing of canals and waterways, clearing of drainage systems, cleaning of debris and streets, repair of shoreline dike, repair of barangay hall, footwalk and bridges, dredging of creeks, etc.

Participating in the activities are 23 barangays from Victorias, two barangays from E.B. Magalona, and 12 barangays each for Silay, Talisay and Murcia.
