VIDEO: Corozal Port to Enhance Pacific Side Capacity

Business & Finance

Panama Canal Expansion, the largest project at the Canal since its original construction, will create a new lane of traffic along the Canal through the construction of a new set of locks, doubling the waterway’s capacity.

To offer an enhanced service to the maritime industry, the Panama Canal is working on yet another development project. The plan is to design and build a new port in the area of Corozal that will improve capacity in the Pacific side of the waterway, opening new opportunities for international trade.

This project will increase the benefits of Panama’s geographical position by bring new possibilities to the larger vessels that will transit through the expanded Canal.
