Lake water returned from JND’s dewatering plant back to the lake has been clean enough to bypass the secondary sand and carbon filtration systems that were originally anticipated for the project.

The scope of the work for the Machado Lake Ecosystem Rehabilitation project includes removal and mechanical dewatering of approximately 239,000 cubic yards of lake sediment. Removing the sediment will increase the lake capacity to handle storm flows, ameliorate eutrophic conditions, and control the growth of nuisance aquatic plant species.
