Sheriff Investigates Vehicle Dredged from Duluth-Superior Harbor

A mystery was pulled out of the Duluth-Superior harbor on Thursday.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, during the Duluth-Superior dredging project, workers from RJS Construction pulled up the remnants of a vehicle out of 26 feet of water between Midwest Energy and the General Mills Elevator “O” slip.

Deputies said the vehicle was examined by investigators from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

A Wisconsin license plate and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) were found in the debris.

The VIN indicated that the vehicle was a blue 1978 Ford pickup truck.

The incident remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
