Middle Pass Channel Dredging Wrapped Up, DPC Says

Dredging of Middle Pass Channel, adjacent to Charles Point Patches, has been completed and Darwin Port Corporation has been able to achieve the targeted depth of 14.0 metres LAT.

From the date of this announcement the following operating criteria apply:

– Vessels departing Middle Arm with draft of 12.0 meters or less do not require sailing windows;

– Vessels departing East Arm Wharf with a draft of 10.7 meters or less do not require sailing windows;

– Vessels of 200 meters overall length and/or 10.7 meters or greater draft will be required to embark/disembark their pilot at the outer pilot boarding ground.

Vessel draft information is crucial for safe navigation in Darwin Harbour.
