Hearing to Review Recent Army Corps of Engineers Chief’s Reports

The Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee, chaired by U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH), will hold a hearing next week on pending U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chief’s Reports and Post Authorization Change Reports (PACRs).

This hearing will continue the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s oversight of the Corps as a House and Senate conference committee continues to make progress on final water resources development legislation. One of the Committee’s core principles in its bill, the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA), is that Congress continues to review proposed submissions from the Administration and the Corps.

The hearing will focus on Chief’s reports received since the Committee’s last review of Corps submissions.

The hearing, entitled “A Review of Recent United States Army Corps of Engineers Chief’s Reports and Post Authorization Change Reports,” is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on April 29, 2014 in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.

The Subcommittee will receive testimony from Major General John Peabody, Deputy Commanding General, Civil and Emergency Operations, United States Army Corps of Engineers.
