Turkmenbashi Port Development Plan Discussed

President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, hosted Ahmet Chalyk, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Calyk Holding Group of Companies.

Calyk informed Berdimuhamedov on the progress in implementing the projects entrusted to Turkish partners in Turkmenistan.

In this context, extensive discussion focused on the construction of a new international seaport in Turkmenbashi.

The general construction contractor in this project is the Turkish company Gap Insaat. This project will include the construction of ferry, passenger and container terminals.

The complex will involve a common loading terminal, bulk cargo terminal, as well as the plant for construction and repair of ships.

The total area of a multifunctional port will be more than 1 million 200 thousand square meters.
