Keansburg Dredging Plan Presented

The US Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for Keansburg, East Keansburg, and Laurence Harbor Beach Erosion and Hurricane Shore Protection Project.

The proposed work includes placement of approximately 269,000 cubic yards of beach fill, dredged from the Sea Bright borrow area, along the length of the constructed Project footprint in Keansburg, East Keansburg, and Laurence Harbor for the base contract.

There will be an option for an extra 831,000 cubic yards of beachfill along the length of the constructed Project in order to restore the Project to its initial-fill profile.

The sand material will be dredged from the Sea Bright borrow area and hydraulically pumped to the project site.

The Sea Bright borrow areas are approximately one to two miles east of the Atlantic Coast of New Jersey. The work is estimated to cost between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000.
