USA: Pass Christian Harbor Dredging Enters Final Phase

The Pass Christian Harbor expansion is about to enter its final phase.

The project was projected to be finished next April. But the weather has pushed the project a few weeks behind schedule, reports wlox.com.

Since March, crews have been dredging 400,000 cubic yards of sand at the harbor expansion site.

The dredging project ends this week.

“The only thing left is doing 6,000 cubic yards of the federal channel out there. When they finish that up, which should be just be three to four days, then the dredging is done,” said Pass Christian Mayor Chipper McDermott.

The plan is to create a berm to collect all the dredge material.

All the sand was pumped across the Bay to the beaches of Hancock County.
