Costain Group Eyes Middle East Expansion

Costain, a UK-based company is seeking expansion operations in the Middle East, Constructionweekonline.com reports.

The group appointed Tim Bowen for further development of Costain’s consultancy and operations and maintenance services in the Middle East.

Bowen joined Costain from Atkins in 2005. He has been crucial in developing Costain’s market leading highways activity. He has now been appointed to Costain’s executive board as regional development director.

Andrew Wyllie, Costain Group chief executive stated: “Tim Bowen will now take responsibility for implementing strategy in the Middle East and ensuring our customers there receive the same broad scope of service which we offer in the UK markets.

In a statement, Costain said: “Costain has a well-established operation in Abu Dhabi, focused on the oil and gas market. Tim will be expanding Costain’s offering in line with the company strategy.”

Costain’s jobs in this region have included Dubai International Airport contract as well as dredging 107 million cubic metres of sand and rock for the £500m Mina Jebel Ali port, building Port Rashid in Dubai as part of a joint venture and constructing an army camp for the Oman’s Armoured Regiment.
