After a busy few weeks of dredging, another season of maintenance and capital dredging is finished at Dublin Port.

The maintenance was undertaken by Jan de Nul with the trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Diogo Cão, assisted by the bed-leveler Cosette.

The capital dredging was carried out by Boskalis' backhoe dredger Magnor, utilizing a 30 cubic meter bucket, to deepen and widen historic berths and also create the new Berth 52 at the east end of the port.

Last year’s campaign involved their TSHD Shoalway and a smaller local backhoe dredger.

A third campaign is scheduled for next year.
