Commissioned by the Municipality of Maastricht, Ploegam has completed dredging work at Lock 20.
The approach channel to the lock had become too shallow, preventing the vessels from passing through. Using its electric hopper barge Merwestroom, Ploegam has restored the waterway to the required depth.
Both the dredging operations and the transport of the dredged material to the processing facility were carried out with zero emissions.
After three weeks of work, the approach channel is once again ready for use.
