Tahoe City Public Utility District (TCPUD) said that they will temporarily close the Lake Forest Boat Ramp from November 1 through November 30 to complete permitted dredging operations.

During the closure, winter boat ramp operations managed by the Tahoe Resource Conservation District will temporarily relocate to Obexer's Marina in Homewood, TCPUD said.

Dredging is performed every seven to ten years to remove accumulated sediment from the boat launch area and maintain safe conditions for launching and retrieving boats. This routine maintenance helps ensure the ramp remains accessible and operational for boaters.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of this month, weather and conditions permitting, and the boat ramp will remain closed to public use throughout the project, TCPUD concluded.
