Collier County said that the crews will start spreading more than 208,000 tons of sand across Naples Beach this week to revitalize the sandy shores.

The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) at their recent meeting awarded Earth Tech Enterprises Inc., a company from Fort Myers and the lowest responsive and responsible bidder among the five companies that submitted bids to haul sand and place it on the beaches.

Under the project, the crews will spread the sand across 3.5 miles of beach from Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) reference monuments R-58A+300 (Doctors Pass) to R-79 (just south of 21st Ave S), all within the City of Naples.

The contractor is expected to complete the project before the end of 2026. According to the County, the crews will cease project operations for a short break over Thanksgiving (11/26/26 -11/29/26).

The overall project cost is estimated to be about $8 million, which includes approximately $5 million for the Earth Tech contract, $2.4 million for sand from Stewart Materials in Immokalee, and needed expenditures for engineering design, permitting, inspections, and shorebird monitoring.
