NSW Government said that the boat ramps, jetties and pontoons across the state are set to benefit from a further $1 million in maintenance funding, with applications for round two of the Boating Infrastructure Maintenance Program now open.
The Boating Infrastructure Maintenance Program supports councils, community groups and the private sector to carry out repair and maintenance works on public boating infrastructure, helping keep facilities safe, accessible and in good working order.
Round 2 forms part of the $44 million Boating Infrastructure and Dredging Scheme delivered by Transport for NSW, and follows $2 million awarded to 40 projects under Round 1 in December 2025.
NSW Maritime Executive Director, Nicole Watts, said that round two of the program follows strong demand from councils and community groups: “NSW is blessed with a wealth of incredible waterways. This funding supports the community by investing in the maritime infrastructure that provides access to our waterways for everyone to enjoy.”
“Whether it’s slipway maintenance, fixing deck planks or repairing a pontoon, this funding supports our boating facilities to provide safe, fit-for-purpose community access.
“This fund is a crucial part of our $44 million Boating Infrastructure and Dredging Scheme, supporting the delivery of both economic and social benefits for our local communities, and we’re thrilled to see the appetite for the program.”
Applications close on October 30 and must be submitted through the SmartyGrants platform.
