The aim of the dredging is to increase water’s turnover rate on the beach and thus improves water quality.

Heavy vehicles will move in the area which will cause disturbances in traffic. Construction traffic arrangements will be active in the construction site for the duration of the work. The beach has to be closed for the duration of the work,” the City in a statement.

The main contractor for the works, Autio Infrapalvelut Oy, is aiming to complete the project in April 2025. The Nallikari Beach was dredged last in 2012.
