MOTAS Dredging Solutions designed and delivered the cutterheads for two custom designed cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) 750 recently.

These heavy duty cutterheads are designed to operate at a cutter power range of 1000kW to 1500kW.

According to MOTAS, both cutterheads are five bladed and equipped with wide chisel teeth optimized for excavating sand and clay type of soil. “ During the fabrication process all production steps were closely supervised by our team of QA/QC inspectors, ranging from the casting of the blades and the hub, forging of the backring, machining of the hub and the backring, accurate positioning of teeth and ultimately the welding ,” MOTAS said.

The company added that these two cutter suction dredgers are currently under construction.
