According to the Army Corps’ public affairs officer Steve Rochette, earlier this month GLDD finished beach replenishment works in Beach Haven, North Beach Haven and Holgate.

Since October 9, the hopper dredge Liberty Island has dredged and pumped around 700,000 cubic yards of sand onto the LBI beaches.

The remaining 1.1 million cubic yards of sand will be pumped onto the beaches in Loveladies and Harvey Cedars as soon as the Liberty Island completes another project in Ventnor City.

The $54.4 million Long Beach Island coastal storm risk management project is expected to be completed this winter.
