Newhaven Marina dredging campaign (VIDEO)

Dredging

ML (UK) Dredging Ltd recently kicked off a dredging campaign in Newhaven Marina.

The dredging, which commenced in late November, is being carried out by the backhoe dredger WITTON II.

Self-propelled split hopper barge SPLIT THREE is transporting the spoil material from the Marina to the disposal ground.

This includes frequent passages from the Harbor to the Disposal Ground, situated approximately 1 mile south of Newhaven Breakwater Lighthouse.

Dredging at Newhaven is usually done twice a year in order to maintain adequate depth of water in the entrance channel for the Harbor and at the Marina berths.
