These projects cover significant critical infrastructure improvements at 18 Pacific Region Harbors, including 9 on Vancouver Island, 4 in the Lower Mainland, 2 on the Sunshine Coast, 2 in the Gulf Islands and 1 on the North Coast.

Work on these projects is anticipated to begin in fall 2024.

The overall budget also includes $11.15 million to complete minor projects to support health and safety requirements at various harbors, as required.

Steveston Harbor Authority is among 18 Pacific Region harbors receiving a grant, and this announcement means that Steveston will receive a one-time funding of $2.2 million for the dredging of the Steveston Channel, adjacent to the Steveston Gulf of Georgia and Paramount Harbors.
