Fenwick’s dredging project making good progress

Dredging

Town of Fenwick Island (DE) recently kicked off a project that will dredge two boating channels in Little Assawoman Bay.

The overall project is focused on dredging the two boating channels which connect the canals of Fenwick Island with the main North-South channel on the western edge of Little Assawoman Bay.

The dredged material (which primarily consists of sand) is being placed on a nearby parcel of land that is being developed for a luxury residential community.

According to the Fenwick Island Mayor Natalie Magdeburger, the north channel has been completed and the town’s dredging contractors are now moving their equipment to the south channel.

Fenwick currently expects the entire “on-the-water” dredging work to be completed by November 12.
