DEME’s dredger Piet Hein wins the Green Award gold certification

DEME Group announced yesterday that their trailing suction hopper dredger ’Piet Hein’ has been awarded the Green Award gold certification for inland shipping.

This recognition certifies ships that meet the highest standards in quality, safety, and environmental performance.

TSHD ‘Piet Hein’ operates in the Netherlands, running on biofuel and equipped with the latest green technology to considerably reduce emissions.

The vessel has a length of 85.94 meters, width of 9.46m, depth of 3.30m and a maximum hopper capacity of 994.00 cubic meters.

According to DEME, this is another step forward in the company’s commitment to becoming climate neutral by 2050.
