According to the Army Corps, the work will be performed in Port Arthur, Texas, with an estimated completion date of March 24, 2027.

The Sabine Neches Project that will deepen the waterway from 40 feet to 48 feet is being implemented in 2 phases.

Contracts 2A, 2B, 3, 4 and 5 will provide benefits from the first 4’ cut (Phase 1). Contracts 6, 7, 8 and 9 will provide full depth benefits from the final cut going from 4’ down to 8’ (Phase 2).

USACE estimates that it will take approx. $1.4 billion to deepen the Sabine-Neches Waterway, making this dredging project among the largest waterway infrastructure projects currently under construction in the United States.
