Recently, I joined Minister David Michael to announce the Department Of Transport had awarded a milestone $69.2 million contract to build the new 460m northern breakwater at Casuarina Boat Harbor,” said Punch.

According to the official, these works form part of the Transforming Bunbury Waterfront Project, providing critical new infrastructure that will underpin the rejuvenation of the harbor as a regional marine hub.

Also, the project is an election commitment made by the Cook Labor Government and builds on the work of previous Labor Government’s – beginning with the Bunbury 2000 initiative.

The dredging component is already underway, and I look forward to construction of the northern breakwater getting started in the coming weeks,” added Punch.

“Once complete, it will not only provide amazing facilities for local residents but will also add value to the local economy through tourism and other business opportunities.”
