Houma Navigation Canal lock complex VIDEO

The Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) has just released this very interesting video named Houma Navigation Canal Lock Complex Ground-Breaking.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, CPRA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers broke ground on Phase 2 of the Houma Navigation Canal Lock Complex a couple of weeks ago.

This lock system is a key component of the Morganza to the Gulf Protection system and will enhance storm surge protection, restore vital ecosystems, and support the economy of Terrebonne Parish, said CPRA.

Also, this complex will allow ships to pass through the canal, while limiting saltwater intrusion into the Barataria Basin, protecting thousands of acres of wetlands and wildlife habitat.
