The work involves the transportation of sand from Kyeemagh to Brighton Le Sands and Dolls Point to Ramsgate and will require the closure of small areas of beach, which will be gated to ensure the safety of the public, according to the Council.

Storm events and tidal inundation is causing significant erosion of the area, which would impact the Grand Parade within five years at the current rate of erosion.

The works are being undertaken to ensure the stability of the area and protect the foreshore from further erosion while a long-term management plan is being established.

Council said that they have planned the projects to have minimal impact on the community while this essential work is completed.

The work is being done on Crown Land with significant funding from the NSW Government.
