Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company is in the final stage of completing the critical Saint John’s County Shore Protection project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District.

The project involved dredging 2.5 million cubic yards of quality sand from a borrow area 7 miles off the coast and strategically placing it back onto the beach, protecting coastal eco systems and shore-side infrastructure.

Also, Mr. Henry Dean, Saint John’s County Commissioner, COL Barndon Bowman, District Commander, and James McRae Resident Engineer from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers South Atlantic Division took part in the tour.
