By repowering and upgrading the cutter suction dredge, we have significantly extended its operational life and improved its performance, ensuring it meets the highest standards of efficiency and environmental responsibility,” said Robby Van den Branden, COO, APT Global Marine and Offshore.

The repowering of the dredger included following equipment:

  • Main dredge pump (P & S) – 2800 kw x (2)
  • Generator Engine – 3500 kw x (1)
  • Port and STBD dredge pump engines

The detailed scope was removal of all existing engines & auxiliaries, fabrication of new foundation, installation of new engines, fabrication & installation of all piping, alignment of gear box & pumps. Commissioning of the entire systems and trials of the engine/auxiliaries to NMDC satisfaction.

The repowering process involved the installation of new, state-of-the-art engines and related system designed to reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency. Additionally, the docking phase included thorough inspections, repairs, and upgrade to ensure the vessel’s optimal performance and safety.
