This innovative dredger, with a discharge diameter of 500 mm, marks another step towards sustainable and environmentally friendly dredging solutions.

The Cygnus is being entirely built in the Netherlands, with most of the companies involved coming from the Sliedrecht area, the birthplace of the global dredging industry.

The engineering of the Cygnus – being carried out fully in-house by DE Klop – is designed to meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and sustainability.

Additionally, the Cygnus will be equipped with the company’s standard double-walled dredge pump, a hallmark of durability and efficiency in the industry.

By opting for a fully electric drive system and no hydraulic oil systems, the company is taking a major step in reducing CO2 emissions and minimizing environmental impact, without compromising the performance and efficiency expected of a modern cutter suction dredger.
