Storm events and tidal inundation is causing significant erosion of the area, which would impact the Grand Parade within five years at the current rate of erosion.

According to the Bayside Council, the works are being undertaken to ensure the stability of the area and protect the foreshore from further erosion while a long-term management plan is being established.

This involves the transportation of sand from Kyeemagh to Brighton Le Sands and Dolls Point to Ramsgate via trucks. The work is expected to take up to 16 weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions.
