The autonomous survey USV VO:X Barentsz (a 𝗗𝗨𝗦 𝗩𝟱𝟳𝟱𝟬 7m USV type) made its debut in the Port of Scheveningen this week.

Under the watchful eyes of our engineers, the port authority along with Van Oord Survey department staff, we observed its smooth sailing, stability and maneuverability on the water,” said DEMCON unmanned systems.

“After two days of tuning control, stopping/braking, Dynamic Positioning, testing vessel systems, as well as collecting a lot of vessel operational data, we can conclude that everything is working according to plan.”

According to DEMCON, the next steps include system data analyses, making improvements and two more weeks of harbor and sea trials for the DNV Class and Type approval certification of this innovative USV platform.
