VOSTA LMG systems for GLDD’s new dredger

VOSTA LMG has delivered two side suction installations, including the complete dredge automation, monitoring and control system, for a new 5,000 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Galveston Island.

The new dredger is being built by Conrad Shipyard for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) at its Deepwater South shipyard in Amelia, Louisiana, USA.

This will be the third GLDD vessel fitted with VOSTA LMG DCMS, designed to control and monitor all dredging equipment on board the vessel.

The two VOSTA LMG systems include:

  • Gantries, winches and complete side suction pipe;
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) monitoring, control and automation system.
