The Port of Stockton is a major deep-water port on the Stockton Ship Channel of the Pacific Ocean and an inland port located more than seventy nautical miles from the ocean.

Dredging was conducted to achieve project grade depths of -35 to -40 feet.

The project involved The Dutra Group’s Derrick Barge DB24 and the Morty which used an Eddy Pump to place the dredged sediment at the Port’s existing Placement Site.

Operations commenced July 8, 2024, and were completed July 29th.

Dutra said that they prioritized the maintenance dredging of Docks 7 and 8 at the Port’s request.

This area held large amounts of debris that made disposal at Robert’s Island difficult, but the team was able to find solutions and complete this area in a timely fashion, the company added.
