USACE to dredge Ocean City Inlet

Dredging

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to conduct dredging operations in Ocean City, Maryland, from July 25 until July 30.

The work will focus on two priority areas from the last round of Inlet work (unless the survey indicates otherwise), as well as the junction between the Isle of Wight and Inlet channels.

During the week, shallow-draft hopper dredge Murden will dredge shoaling areas, allowing waterborne transportation for large barges to pass through safely.

The goal of the work is to realign channel to deeper water, connect the breakwaters and add a spur breakwater to the standalone breakwater to minimize shoaling in the Isle of Wight channel and private marinas.
