This time it’s the completion of the Stewart Towhead Dikes Project by their Project Delivery Team led by Project Manager Zach Cook and Non-Federal Project Partner – the commercial towing industry represented by the Lower Mississippi River Committee.

The project work placed approximately 125,000 tons of Graded Stone A to extend one existing stone dike and construct one new trail dike.

The dikes improve the navigation channel in this reach of the Mississippi River, which has in recent years, experienced a shoal during low water conditions, said USACE.

The work on this $4.3M project was funded by the Disaster Relief Supplemental Act of 2022.
