Ungoofaaru land reclamation moves forward

Sand pumping operations for the R. Ungoofaaru Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project are well underway.

According to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company’s latest project update, dredging and reclamation work is ongoing, with 63% completion.

Scope of works will include:

• land reclamation operations – 10 hectares,

• 838.60m rock boulder revetment,

• 75m rock boulder groyne.

The value of the project is MVR 71.08 million ($4.6 million).
