Dredging in full swing at Nipper Park marina

Hannibal Parks & Recreation (HPR) crews are busy dredging Nipper Park marina this week.

The boat ramp and marina is closed during dredging but open for boaters in the evening, HPR said.

Project completion will depend on weather and complications.

Last year, HPR purchased a dredge that will be used to vacuum up unwanted sediment and debris, which will then be pumped to a pit south of the marina.

The sediment will become fill soil that can be recycled throughout the park system.
