Although clay is one of the most difficult soils to dredge with a trailing suction hopper dredger, there is a solution – the Royal IHC Mighty Dragon drag head.

Dredging soils such as clay is difficult with a trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD). Existing products not specially designed for this type of soil have to be cleaned regularly during operations – something which disrupts the overall dredging process.

IHC draghead Mighty dragon can control the layer thickness during this process and adds jet water at the right location to ensure smoother and more constant dredging, resulting in higher vessel uptime.

The Mighty Dragon is capable of extracting the maximum amount of soil from the bottom within the shortest amount of time and at minimal cost.
