Marinex wins $26 million Savannah dredging contract

Marinex Construction has won a $26 million firm-fixed-price contract for the Savannah Inner Harbor maintenance dredging work.

Bids were solicited via the internet with three received, reports the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

Work will be performed in Savannah, Georgia, with an estimated completion date of June 27, 2024.

This contract is traditionally performed with a hydraulic cutterhead dredge. Up to four million cubic yards of maintenance material is expected to be removed from the inner harbor areas.

The Savannah Inner Harbor channel is 47 ft. deep MLLW and 500 ft. wide to the upper end of Kings Island Turning Basin: 36 ft. deep MLLW and 400 ft. wide to the upper end of Argyle Island Turning Basin; and 30 ft. deep MLLW and 200 ft. wide to the upper limit of the project.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is the contracting activity.
