Villingili Harbor dredging moves forward

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has just announced that the Gaafu Alif Atoll Villingili Harbor Development Project is moving ahead according to schedule.

The new harbor dredging work has reached 45 percent completion, and quay wall block installation work has already commenced.

The scope of works will include:

• dredging and excavation operations of 59,536.80 cbm at harbor basin,

• construction of a 275m breakwater,

• a 613m revetment,

• a 105m groyne,

• a 685m quay wall.

The value of the project is MVR 107.86 million ($7 million).
